Patina Patina PatinaMiller took on the title role in the Stephen Schwartz's 1972 Broadway show "Pippin". The Tony Award winning director Diane Paulus directed "Pippin", which also included Matthew James Thomas and Andrea Martin. Terrence Mann and Matthew James Thomas were the others in the cast. Patina successfully put a contemporary spin on the role created by the award-winning Ben Vereen. She was able to master the Fosse motions that the show is based on so much. Patina has won an Tony Award for Best Performance by an actress in leading Role within a Musical and the Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Actress in a Musical and also Drama League, Fred and Adele Astaire Award, and Broadway.com Audience Choice Award nominations for the role. In December 2012 through the beginning of January 2013 she was the Leading Player of the American Repertory Theatre's production of Pippin. Miller made her Broadway debut in the 2011 Broadway season as the gutsy nightclub-singer-turned-nun "Deloris Van Cartier" in the stage adaptation of "Sister Act", which earned her first Tony nomination, as well as Drama Desk, Drama League, and Outer Critics Circle Award nominations for her performance.
